FRIDAY THE 13th 2013 – The REAL REASON You’re Told It’s UNLUCKY

Friday The 13th

Why all this paranoia or phobia not only regarding the number 13, but especially when it lands on a Friday.  There have been many speculations, opinions and myths that have tried to explain why, but the real answer is quite simple and right in front of our eyes.  However you won’t find that answer in a Google or a Wikipedia search, but you will find it in the pages of music.  Not music history, but in the Origin of Music

Why will music explain this?  Because it doesn’t matter what culture you’re in, everybody has a style of music that they love.  The question to ask yourself is, why does everyone love music?  I’ll answer that for you with one of my quotes from my book; “The reason why people all over the world love music, is because God is music and we were created to love Him.”  Because God dwells in unapproachable light (1 Tim. 6:16), no one can look at God and survive, therefore He casts visible or tangible images to give revelation of Himself and those images cannot contradict.  For ex. The word of God; the Holy Bible and music cannot contradict each other.  The job of images is to reflect or give a picture of the source.  Therefore the images that God has given reflects and gives a picture or revelation of Himself.  For ex, my shadow, which is my image, cannot do anything contrary to me.  I’ll sum that point up like this.  The Holy Bible is an image of God and Music is an image of the Holy Bible.  All that to say, here is the reason for the number 13 being associated with being unlucky.  By the way, it is NOT an unlucky number.  The question you need to ask is, who told you that it was unlucky?

friday the 13th    They have omitted the 13th floor from many high rise buildings.  In my Country, Canada, in a particular municipality, they have banned the number 13 on houses.  Many social gatherings won’t eat with a party of 13 people.  And to perpetuate this paranoia, they make a movie called “Friday The 13th” where a guy with a five letter name J-a-s-o-n, dies on a Friday and comes back from the dead, or you can say, resurrects and kills people.  Exhibit A.  Do I need to go any further on why it’s bad luck? Ok I will.

In music we have a chord called a 13th Chord.  You’ll find this chord all over Jazz music and in my favourite style, Gospel music.  As you can see, or I should I say hear, this chord is integral to those styles.  Hence the spiritual nature of those styles.  So as a Christian Musician and someone who teaches people how to Master The Art of Playing Piano By Ear, this number is not bad luck to me, it is the source of musical success.  I’ll say that again, 13 is the source of musical success.

Hebrew Alphabet - Mem         The Jews will tell you that in Hebrew, 13 is “Mem”, meaning bodies of water.  And as we all know, it’s impossible to live without water.  Exhibit B.

You’re going to see Friday the 13th happen twice in 2013, this week in September and then again in December.  By the way, they are exactly 13 weeks apart.  The reason is, both of those months show the correct starting point of a God created calendar month.  That starting point is the original God created first day of the week, which society (not God) now calls Sunday.  As you can see, if Sunday is the first day of the week with a numerical value of 1, the 13th day of that month will always land on a Friday.  Such is the case for September and December in this altered calendar year of 2013 that we go by.

sept. 2013 calendarI can hear you saying, Robert what do you mean by “this altered Calendar year of 2013 that we go by”.  Well who told us that this calendar was correct?  Growing up I never understood the logic behind one month having 30 days, another having 31, another having 28 and then every four years adding a day.  I mean we were created in God’s image, but we are not the creator of time.  I believe God’s original intention was for a perfect calendar, however man is not perfect and thus our incorrect calendar.  Or maybe the intention of this altered calendar is to confuse us so that we won’t see the truth or recognise what time it really is.

I know you may think I’m crazy, but let’s look at this logically.  How many days are you told there are in a year?  Survey says “365”, I believe that’s incorrect.  How many months are you told that there are in a year?  Survey says “12”, I believe that’s also incorrect.  How many weeks are you told there are in a month?  Survey says “4”, I believe that is correct.  How many weeks are you told there are in a year?  Survey says “52”. I believe that is correct.  Now let’s look at this logically.

How many days are there in a week?  Survey says “7”.  So to verify that, let’s take 365 days and divide it by 52 weeks and that will give us the number of days in a week.  The answer is “7.019230769230769230769230769..etc” days.  Now which week have you ever had “7.019230769230769230769230769..etc” days?  I thought it was 7 days.

Another example, let’s take 365 days and divide it by 12 months, that should give us the number of days in a month.  The answer is “30.4166666666666666666666666666..etc” days.  Now which month has “30.4166666666666666666666666666..etc” days?  It doesn’t exist.  Let’s do another example and I encourage you to get a calculator.

If there are 7 days in a week and 52 weeks in a year, 7 x 52 = 364.  The correct number of days in a year.  So you know what that means, you’re older than you think.  But don’t feel bad, you look good for your age.  Just add a day to every year you’ve lived to get your accurate age.  What is a 364th in music, it is a seven (7).  And Seven (7) is the number of Perfection.  But I understand that’s not too obvious to the regular person, so I’ll focus on the obvious of God’s Perfect creation of time.  In 364 days, there are three visible numbers.  When we add them we get 3+6+4 = 13.  The unlucky number.

sept. 2013 calendarIf there are 7 days in a week and 4 weeks in a month, that means there should only be 28 days in a month.  What is a 28th in music?  A Seven (7); for Perfection.  Now to get the correct number of months, you take the 364 days of a correct year and divide it by the correct days in a month.  364 divided by 28 = 13 months.  There should only be 13 months in a year.  Ladies will tell you, they have a monthly menstrual cycle of 28 days, and they have 13 of them a year.

So the question is not if there are 13 months in a year, the question is, what are you not supposed to know about the number 13?

Piano Keys - 2 Octaves - 734x232         So the reason why you are supposed to think that this number 13 is bad luck is because of the revelation in it.  The most important key in music and the easiest to play in and understand is “C”.  You can say “C” for Creator or “C” for “Christ”.  It’s no coincidence that before an orchestra can play a musical masterpiece, all of the instruments have to be tuned to Concert “C”.  The 13th note in the key of “C” is an “A”

“C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A”.  Now what is an “A” in music? That’s correct, a number Six (6).  And what did God create on day six?  Well let’s read (Gen.1:26-28, 31).

Genesis 1:26-28, 31

King James Version (KJV)

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

God created MAN on the Sixth (6th) day.  We are related to Him and we are His children.  That’s why in music on the Sixth (6th) degree of the Main scale in music, we use the term “Relative Minor”.  Anybody have any relatives out there?  Now I have another video on Minors, so I’ll just get back to the number 13.  A 13 in music is a Six (6).  Perhaps the reason for you to believe that the number 13 is badluck, is because you are supposed to believe that a particular man is badluck or a myth.  Which man you say?  I’ll show you.  As you know a 13 is the sixth (6th) note of a major scale.  Once again the most important key in music is “C”; the sixth (6th) note in that key is an “A”.  The beginning of our 26 letter English alphabet.  Notice, 26 contains two thirteens (13); but that’s for another video.

Hebrew Alphabet - Aleph         In the Hebrew alphabet, there are 22 letters.  By the way, in music a 22nd is a One (1).  The first letter in the Hebrew alphabet, which is symbolic of God, is called the “Aleph”. I recall hearing a particular man say that He is the Alpha and Omega, beginning and the End, the first and the last.  You can read that for yourself in Rev. 22:13.  I tell you, God is just so Perfect.  I know I showed you that “A” was the 13th note in the key of “C”, but that was based on the original Major Scale.  If I counted up to 13 starting from “C”, where would I end up?  Right back at “C”.

What you are not supposed to know about the number 13, is that it is a revelation of the ONE (1); The Creator; The Christ.  One (1) is the number for God and Three (3) is the number for Manifestation.  What you are not supposed to know is that “13” is GOD-MANIFESTED.  Now you say how did God Manifest Himself?  In music a 13 is a Six (6) and Six is the number for Man.  Therefore He manifested as a Man.  But not just any man, a man without sin, a Perfect Man, Jesus Christ.  The number for Perfection is Seven (7) and the number for man is Six (6).  7 + 6 = 13.  The Perfect Man.  In Matt. 1:17 it reads “17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.”  Three fourteens until the birth of Jesus Christ equals 42.  So as you can see, 7 + 6 is not only 13, 7 x 6 = 42. The Perfect Man.

Let’s take it one step further, if we put 7 and 6 together we get Seventy-Six (76).  If you read Luke 3, you will see the ancestry of Jesus Christ.  If you count it, you will see that it is actually 76 generations from the first man.

Piano Keys - 2 Octaves - 734x232          To conclude, let me show you one more thing.  When I apply the Perfect (7) Man (6) Jesus Christ to music, it confirms his words.  The Seventh (7th) note in the key of “C” is a “B”.  Six semitones above “B” is an “F”.  “F” is the Fourth (4th) note in the key of “C”.  These two notes are of equal distance of each other.  A distance in music is known as an interval.  This particular interval is both the first and the last of each other.   They form what we call in music, a “Tri-Tone”.  By the way, in a 13th in music, guess what you find in it, a Tri-tone.  Jesus Christ said He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end.  Our Jewish brothers and sisters would say that 13, the “Mem” is water, the main source of life.  So guess what, Jesus Christ is the source of life.  I could go musically deeper, but I won’t.  However I’ll end with a non-fiction story.

Back in the medieval days, there was a particular chord that got banned by the Roman Catholic Church.  They called it the “diabolus in musica”.  Why was it banned?  Well I’ll leave that question for you to answer.  However what I will tell you is that this chord contained the Tri-tone.

What were they trying to cover up?
